Who Is She
WeiYu Chiu is a composer from Taiwan, currently completing her Master’s degree in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games at Berklee College of Music’s Valencia campus. She began her formal classical music training at an early age, studying piano from the age of four and violin from the age of ten, later performing in orchestras. She entered specialized music programs from elementary school and went on to major in classical music during her undergraduate studies.
Building upon a strong foundation in performance and music theory, she was later introduced to film scoring through a serendipitous experience, which sparked a deep fascination with the relationship between music and visual storytelling. Since then, her creative focus has shifted toward scoring for film and interactive media. Her work is characterized by emotionally driven, narrative-focused compositions that enhance the dramatic depth of visual works.
She believes that compelling visual storytelling and music are inseparable. Music plays a vital role in shaping emotion, pacing, and audience perception. At the core of her artistic vision is the pursuit of uniting high-quality music with meaningful visual narratives, creating impactful and memorable scores for film, television, and video games.
